In Tandem is a non-profit that connects young people with organizations to integrate youth voice into their products and services. We hope to build a world in which youth have a voice in every decision that affects them. Thank you for visiting us!
Your Privacy Matters
We're committed to protecting your privacy. This document is a plain-language overview of the full Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our website (in-tandem.org) or any of our services. This overview doesn't replace that policy. We created this overview to make it easier for everyone to understand what is in the Privacy Policy.
What Info We Collect
- We collect info you give us directly, like when you fill out an application to our Youth Voice Fellowship or contact us.
- If you become a Youth Partner in our Youth Voice Fellowship, we may collect additional information. You can read more about this in the "Youth Voice Fellowship" section below.
- We also collect some technical information, like:
- Your browser type and operating system
- Your IP address (kind of like your computer's online address)
- Info about your device (like its unique ID)
- How you interact with our site
Kids Under 13
Our site is not for kids under 13. We don't knowingly collect info from anyone under 13. If we find out we have information from someone under 13, we have a process for deleting their information from our systems.
How We Use Your Info
We might use your info to:
- Provide you with the services or info you request
- Send you relevant communications
- Improve our website and services
- Personalize your experience on our site
- Protect the safety of our users
Sharing Your Info
We won't share your info with third parties unless:

- We're working with trusted service providers who help us run our operations

Youth Voice Fellowship
This is our program where you can collaborate with organizations on projects. We may collect additional info here, like your name and contact details and demographic information. We'll get your parent or guardian’s permission to participate, but anyone ages 14-18 (or in high school) can apply! We take extra care to protect this info and only share it with the organizations you're working with, and only what's necessary.
Your safety and wellbeing are really important to us. We have processes in place to respond to any concerning behavior during your participation in projects and other fellowship activities. If we’re concerned about your safety, we may take one or many of the following steps depending on the urgency of your situation: reaching out to you and/or your parent or guardian with mental health resources, connecting you directly with our social worker, or reaching out to law enforcement.
Security
We take security seriously. We use safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
Changes to the Policy
If we make big changes to the policy, we'll let you know beforehand. We will also make sure to update this overview.
