In Tandem is excited to announce our new collaborative project with foundry10, aiming to elevate youth voices and inform evidence-based tools that will support young people in the areas they care about most.
Organization spotlight
foundry10 is an education research organization with a philanthropic focus on expanding ideas about learning and creating direct value for youth. In collaboration with a wide range of partners, they surface, evaluate, and share opportunities to better support youth learning both inside and outside the classroom. Building on more than a decade of impactful work, their unique approach blends applied and experimental research, philanthropy, and education programs rooted in evidence-based best practices.
Project overview
foundry10 and In Tandem are collaborating on a research project to better understand and address the unique social media experiences of young girls. In Tandem is helping to connect foundry10 with teens aged 14-17 to learn first-hand about their experiences on social media. Topics include self-expression, identity, community building, and understanding algorithms—all critical areas as young people navigate digital environments.
This research collaboration between foundry10 and In Tandem will create a foundation for future programming that truly reflects the needs and experiences of today’s teen girls. Perspectives gathered through the interviews will directly inform foundry10’s future goal of co-designing social media literacy resources for middle school girls in the 2025-2026 academic year. Those resources will equip youth with skills and confidence in managing their online presence.
Why In Tandem?
In Tandem and foundry10 are joining forces to explore how youth voice can actively shape the resources they need, especially around complex topics like social media literacy for young women. This approach reflects In Tandem’s core belief in the importance of engaging youth directly from the very start of developing resources for them. In Tandem is uniquely positioned to help organizations like foundry10 engage authentically with youth by facilitating connections with members of our Youth Partners cohort.
